Today we honour all the special women in our lives for Mother’s Day. As we enter the second week in May, we also pay tribute to Jesus’ Holy Mother, Our Mother Mary. From Mary we learn to trust, when all hope seems gone. Mary teaches us to surrender to God’s will in all things, loving Christ her Son and the Son of God. Happy Mother’s Day to all those women who are a beacon of light for so many, especially during these unique times. We send love and prayers to you all.
National Nurses Week 2020
National Nursing Week always occurs from the Monday to the Sunday of Florence Nightingale’s Birthday (May 12), a nursing pioneer. The theme this year is Nurses: A Voice to Lead-Nursing the World to Health.
This year, St. Benedict Elementary School would like to personally thank and honour these very important FRONT LINE WORKERS. We are asking St. Benedict Families to help us by creating thank you cards, as a sign of our appreciation that all nursing staff does for patients daily. With that, Tim Horton’s has donated gift cards to accompany these cards. Please drop off cards in the bin outside the front door of the school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning (until 11:00am), considering the following:
- Please respect all social distancing protocols when dropping off the cards.
- Please wear protective gear (like gloves) when placing the cards in the plastic bin in front of the school. Please ensure the lid is on tight, to protect the cards from the environment.
- Please wash your hands as soon as you can.
