Weekly Update: Catholic Education Week May 3-9

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)

Catholic Education Week Prayer 2020

Loving God,
You sent your Son, Jesus, to be our hope. We feel his promised Spirit at work within us; We recognize his risen presence among us as we gather in his name in prayer, and celebrate the Eucharist. He is the hope which inspires us to share as members of the Catholic educational community, in your church’s mission to announce the Good News to the whole world. We thank you for the gift of Catholic education. May it continue to be a place where Christ ignites within us, an abiding confidence, in a future filled with hope.
We make this prayer through the same Christ, our Lord.
Amen.

This week, we invite you to celebrate Catholic Education Week and our theme of “Igniting Hope” as a family at home, and virtually through classroom platforms. The following is a link to the home resources for Catholic Education Week where you will find prayers and family activities.

Please consider sharing your home celebrations on Twitter tagging @StBeneHCDSB and adding these hashtags: #TogetherApartHCDSB #IgnitingHope

NEW MONDAY MORNING ANNOUCEMENTS

We want to bring a little St. Benedict tradition into your homes. Every Monday morning, our St. Benedict families can start the week with us…… St. Benedict style, with our Morning Announcements from home.

To do this, we need some help!!! We are asking our St. Benedict families to email either Mr. Guerin, Mrs. Babic or Mrs. Le Conte some of the following below, that we can use in our Morning Announcements:

  • video/audio footage of O Canada (English/French)
  • video/audio/print of prayers
  • community news
  • student jokes/riddles
  • any other ideas that would be appropriate for our announcements.

PLEASE email all contributions by each FRIDAY, of each week.

OUR COMMUNITY NEEDS YOUR HELP!

On Tuesday May 5th, from 12:00-1:00pm, we are asking St. Benedict Families to drop off non-perishable food items, at the front of the school along the front curb. We have many families in our school community in need of food. We will be delivering this food to help support some of our families. If you are coming on Tuesday to drop off food, please remember to practise proper social distancing protocols. Stay safe and let’s continue to support each other.

God Bless,

Mr. Guerin, Mrs. Le Conte & Mrs. Babic
