Weekly Update October, 7

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.  His love endures forever.”

~ Psalm 136:1

Thank you to our wonderful St. Benedict community for your continued support with our Thanksgiving Food Drive.  Tuesday Oct. 8 will be the last day to send in lunch box items for The Salvation Army in Milton.

PA Day & Thanksgiving Day: Wishing the St. Benedict School Community a happy Thanksgiving Weekend.   We are grateful and thankful for your continued support and trust with your beautiful children.  Please join us on Thursday, October 10 for our Thanksgiving Liturgy in our gym, at 11:15am.  Thank you to our Grade 2 team for organizing this blessed event.   A reminder there is no school Friday, October 11(PA day) and Monday, October, 14 (Thanksgiving Holiday).

Appropriate Outdoor Wear: As the weather begins to change, please remember that students are outside for three outdoor breaks a day.  It can be very windy on our playground.  Layering is a great solution for our students to manage the changes in weather, at this time of year.

Junior and Senior Cross Country Teams: Congratulations to all the students in grades 4-8 who have been selected to be a member of St. Benedicts Cross Country Team.  Although the meet has been postponed until the spring, students are encouraged to continue to train on their own time.  Once the weather gets nice in the early spring, additional communication will be shared with the parents through the Cross Country Coaches.  Thank you to our Coaches for all their time and dedication.

Reminder about Lunch and Snacks: We have several children in our school who live with a severe life-threatening food allergy to nuts (anaphylaxis).  Please make sure that all items are nut-free, when sending lunches and snacks to school (check labels looking for words like “traces of nuts” and not sending these products).  In addition, please continue to refer to any specific classroom allergy guidelines, communicated by the classroom teacher.   We appreciate your continued support in ensuing the safety of all our students.

Wishing you a great weekend!
