“A person’s a person, no matter how small!”

~ Dr. Suess

Thank you to our wonderful St. Benedict community for your support with the Terry Fox Walk. We appreciate your generosity and support in raising awareness around Cancer and “walking” closer to a CURE together.

Coming together this week to celebrate St. Benedict’s Opening School Mass was an amazing testament to our faith and dedication to our community.  It was wonderful to see so many practitioners from the community to share the Good News of our Gospel. Thank you to all the staff and students who supported this Blessed event.

Walk to School Wednesday: International Walk to School Month (IWALK) is an annual celebration of active transportation taking place around the world every October. Hundreds of Ontario schools participate in IWALK each year.  On Wednesday October 2, 2019 we encourage you and your children to walk to school. The benefits to walking to school include improved academic performance, promotes healthy living, gets children outdoors and provides daily exercise for children.

Thanksgiving Food Drive: The Salvation Army in Milton is in desperate need of lunch box items for students, so St. Benedict will be organizing a “Lunch Box Food Drive”.

We are asking for any non-perishable children’s lunch/snack items like granola bars, fruit cups, pudding, Gold Fish/crackers, etc., and especially juice boxes.  The Salvation Army will be coming the morning of Wednesday, October 9th to pick up these non-perishable items. Thank you for your support.

Expected Uniform Attire: ISW is the uniform provider for our school board.  Clothing from ISW is the expectation for students.  Please note that jogging pants and leggings are not considered uniform items, unless used for gym classes.  Please contact your child’s teacher, or the office, if you have any questions or if you need further information.

PA Day & Thanksgiving Day: Please note that Friday, October 11 is a Professional Activity Day. Therefore, there is no school for students. We would also like to remind our parents that Monday, October, 14 is the Thanksgiving Holiday. We wish all our families a Blessed Thanksgiving.

Wishing you a great weekend!
