Safe Arrival

The purpose of the Safe Arrival Program is to ensure that your child arrives safely at school. We appreciate your cooperation in calling the school to let us know if your child will not be attending or will be late.

Please call 905 864 8272  or emailStAnthonyofPadua.Attendance@hcdsb.org to report an absence or late arrival. If you call the school early in the morning, or the evening before, your call will be forwarded to our answering system. Please clearly state your child’s name, grade, teacher, the reason, and length (if known) of the absence.

We are concerned when your child is not at school and we have not received a call from you! We will attempt to confirm the whereabouts of your child by calling home/workplace/emergency contact numbers (please keep us up-to-date!). If an absence continues to be unexplained, the Board policy requires that the Principal determine whether the police department should be made aware of the unaccounted absence.

Please help us to save valuable time and ensure the safety of your children by calling in all absences.

Students who arrive late, either morning or afternoon, must report to the office before going to their classroom. Students arriving late require an admission slip which is given to the teacher. Letters to families will be issued for students with chronic lates and absences in order to offer notice and support.  Supervision of the school playground begins at 9:00 a.m.

If it is raining, the students enter the school and go directly to their classrooms where supervision will be provided starting at 9:00 a.m.
