“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.”

Isaiah 7:14

Season of Advent

Sunday of this week marks the first week of Advent.

Advent is a time when we prepare ourselves spiritually for the coming, or birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. During Advent, we pray, fast and repent and wait in joyful hope and anticipation for Christ’s birth. We thank God for Christ’s first coming to earth as a baby, for his presence among us today through the Holy Spirit and also in our preparation and anticipation of his final coming.

We wish all of our St. Anthony families a very holy Advent season.

Advent Food/Hygiene Drive

This year for Advent, our school is collecting non-perishable food items (i.e. canned food, pasta, tuna/salmon, baby food) and hygiene items for St. Vincent de Paul Society through Holy Rosary Parish during this week (November 29 – December 3). Please have your child bring these items to school and place them in their own classroom.

We have divided up the hygiene items per division to facilitate collecting what is needed:

Kindergarten – soap

Primary – deodorant

Junior – shampoo and conditioner

Intermediate – toothbrushes and toothpaste, mouthwash

Thank you in advance for supporting our Advent Initiative this year.

Winter Clothing

Now that the weather is getting colder, more children have been bringing their winter clothing to school. We encourage all parents to label every piece of clothing with the name of their child so that if one of them goes missing, it will be easy to find its owner.

Student Safety

For the safety of all students, it is imperative that you park your vehicles and come towards the gates of the playground to pick up your child after school. Children are NOT permitted to walk across lanes of traffic or into the parking lot on their own.

Parent-Teacher Interviews

A sincere thank you to all parents who joined our educators virtually to discuss the academic process of their children. Together we can make a difference in the lives of all students. Thank you for working in partnership with us.

Second Hand Uniform Drive

A big thank you to our Catholic School Council for organizing our Uniform Drive for our community. Your help in running this event was appreciated and valued. A special thank you to the following parents for making this event successful: Mrs. Romero, Mrs. Kwaterska, Mrs. Countryman, Mrs. Deus, Mrs. Dabara and Mrs. Schembri.
