“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”.
We wish to extend congratulations to all of our grade 7 students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation last week. We continue to pray that the Holy Spirit guides each one of them throughout their lives.
One day down! One more to go! School pictures will take place tomorrow (Monday) for the second half of our school and for any student that was away on Friday and should have had their picture taken. Don’t forget to bring your smiles! Click HERE to see what day and tentative times your child will be getting their picture taken.
It’s that time of year again! We need to prepare for the changing weather and therefore beginning tomorrow (Monday, November 22) we would like all children to bring an indoor pair of shoes to school. Your child will be changing into these shoes every day upon arrival and for every recess. It is best if your child keeps their indoor shoes at school every day so that they do not forget to bring them to school on a daily basis.
All progress reports will be sent to parents electronically on Wednesday (November 24th).
We will be holding Parent-Teacher Interviews virtually this week on Thursday evening and Friday.
Virtual interviews will be 10 minutes in length. Teachers will send parents a TEAMS link a few days prior to your scheduled interview time. If you did not schedule a time through the form that was sent out by your child’s teacher, then the teacher will automatically set up an interview time for you.
Spirit Day (wear red): Halton Catholic Children’s Foundation Day–Nov. 25th
The Christian teachings of hope, generosity, respect, dignity, and equity are at the heart of the Halton Catholic Children’s Foundation and inform the impact the foundation strives to have in our community. Through the work of our volunteers and donors – in partnership with the staff and teachers of the Halton Catholic District School Board schools – this foundation is able to help bring these teachings to life.
The Halton Catholic Children’s Foundation (HCCF) is an independent charity. They have partnered with the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) to support their students and families in need throughout Halton (Acton, Burlington, Georgetown, Halton Hills, Milton, Oakville). They raise funds to help HCDSB students overcome financial barriers to learning, which helps our students succeed in school.
We, at St. Anthony, fully support the work that this foundation does for our students. Therefore, on Thursday, November 25th, we are collecting donations through school cash online and we encourage all children to wear RED for the day showing their support!
Friday, November 26th is a Professional Activity Day for all students due to Parent-Teacher interviews. Therefore, there is no school for the students on this day.
Human Rights and Equity Advisory Council
Our HCDSB schools are committed to creating safe, inclusive and welcoming learning environments that support student achievement and well-being in our Catholic schools. Human Rights and Equity are guiding values that are consistent both with Catholic Social Teaching, reaffirming the dignity of every individual, as well as the Ontario Human Rights Code, which safeguards students and staff from discrimination based on the protected grounds.
The Board’s Equity and Inclusive Education Steering Committee is in the process of forming a Human Rights and Equity Advisory Council (HREAC) to engage community stakeholders including parents, students and community organizations.
The purpose of the HREAC is to assist in identifying community needs and to provide advice and guidance on addressing systemic barriers and supporting historically underserved members of the 2SLGBTQ+, racialized and Black communities in the HCDSB.
Parents/guardians and students in Grades 7-12 interested in serving on the HREAC are invited to submit an application online through the HREAC Membership Application Form.
