Weekly Update: November 1 – 5

  • “But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Deuteronomy 4:29

Cold Weather Reminders

As temperatures vary during the day, please ensure students are dressed in layers including hats and mittens. It is also important that uniform sweaters be labeled with children’s names as a number have been left in lost and found and it is difficult to ensure their safe return to the proper child.

Indigenous Education Month

In November, we recognize Indigenous Awareness Month at HCDSB. This month provides an opportunity to re-examine how Indigenous perspectives, histories and contemporary realities may be centred across the curriculum, and to focus on treaties and the legacy of residential schools.

A very big thank you to the Halloween Dance-a-thon Parent Committee for the amazing set up and take down of the decorations for our fundraiser event this year! The gymnasium looked ‘spook’tacular! Thank you Tara Romero, Amangi Dabara, Jennifer Deus, Tanya Ferreira, Agatha Kwaterska, Emil Matacz, and Charlene Schembri. Your help was appreciated!

We thank all St. Anthony families for supporting our fundraiser this year, whether it was through donations or prizes! Your generosity is evident, valued and appreciated!

DJ Serrano Ramirez was in the ‘house’ throughout the entire dance-a-thon on Thursday and Friday ensuring that all children showed off their amazing dance skills! Thank you for being an incredible DJ!

Halloween Dance-a-thon Raffle Draws

Raffle draws for 69 prizes will take place this Friday. There are also two GRAND prizes (2 Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Tickets donated by The Ferreira Family and $100 Mastermind Toys gift card donated by Annette Blachford of Charlton Advantage Real Estate) that will go to the two students who raised the most money for our school. All children will have the opportunity to put their raffle tickets into the raffle boxes of their choice on Wednesday or Thursday in hopes of winning one of the amazing prizes donated by our community! Teachers will be distributing these raffle tickets to your children just before they make their choices!
