Weekly Update: June 28 – July 2

Dear Parents and Guardians:

As we come to the end of another school year. We pray that you and your families are blessed with a safe and healthy summer. We are not yet sure what September will look like in regards to health and safety protocols; announcements will be made closer to the start day. Please continue to follow Public Health recommendations.

Congratulations to all our Grade 8s who celebrated their graduation virtually and with at-home teacher visits this past Wednesday. Thank you to our grade 8 teachers, Mrs. Erratt-Archer, Mrs. Chiasson, Mrs. Thomas and Ms. Prominska for arranging these personal drop off visits.

We wish to remind you that Tuesday is the last day of school and Monday and Tuesday are asynchronous learning days to support the returning of belongings. Below are some reminders of the last two days of school protocol around pick-up and drop-off of belongings.

School Belongings Drop off and Student Pick up of Belongings

On Monday, June 28, and Tuesday, June 29, students will take part in asynchronous learning as announced by the school board. Attendance will not be taken on these days. We have designated times for students/families to return any technology, textbooks, library books, or equipment to the school as well as to pick up any belongings and medications that were not brought home prior to the closure. To minimize congregating and to promote social distancing each grade will be given a separate time and each class a specific door that will be manned by the classroom teacher. We ask that textbooks and library books are returned to the designated class pickup spot. Please return all technology and pick up medications at the front of the school. We realize that some families have multiple students in different classes. While any student belongings that were left at the school can only be picked up at the designated location and time (unless prior arrangements made), all items being returned to the school from one family can be dropped off at one time. Families of Grade 8 students who have not either picked up belongings or medications are asked to do so on Monday June 28th during office hours. Medications that have not been picked up as of end of day Tuesday, will be safely disposed of. The designated classroom times are as follows:
