We Are All Wonderfully Made

Dear Parents and Guardians:

We hope that you and your families are all staying safe and that you continue to follow public health recommendations as we continue with remote learning. We will be sure to notify you as soon as we become aware of a return to in-school learning.

June is the designated Pride Month in Canada, and throughout the month, we will join other schools in our district in raising awareness, and nurturing our call to build safe and inclusive learning environments where every student and every member of the community is welcomed, valued, and respected. June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada! This month, and every day, the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) celebrates and honours the history, heritage and diversity of Indigenous peoples in our country, and in our HCDSB community.

National Indigenous History Month is a time for learning about, appreciating and acknowledging the contributions First Nations, Inuit and Métis people have made in shaping Canada. It is also an opportunity to recognize the strength of present-day Indigenous communities.

Virtual Family Paint Nights ~ Learn About Indigenous Art

Join the HCDSB Indigenous Education Team for a virtual family paint nights!

HCDSB families, students and staff are invited to participate in virtual family paint nights to get creative at home and learn about Indigenous art!

This month, we are virtually celebrating the unique history and contributions that Filipino Canadians have made and continue to make in the social, economic, political and cultural fabric of Canada.

This is also an important month for the Filipino community as June 12 marks Philippine Independence Day. This is a day to celebrate democracy and culture for Filipino Canadians across the country.

National AccessAbility Week May 30 – June 5

National AccessAbility Week​ is an opportunity to celebrate the valuable contributions of Canadians with disabilities. This week, we also recognize the efforts of individuals, communities and workplaces that work to remove barriers to accessibility and inclusion.

COVID-19 Youth Vaccination Program.

Effective May 31st, parents can book Covid-19 vaccinations for children who are between 12-17 years of age. Please click on the link for further information from Halton Health and to book appointments.

We will kick off our Pride Month celebrations with Rainbow Day on Tuesday, June 1st.

Students and staff are encouraged to dress in their most colourful clothes as we celebrate the rainbow – a sign of God’s promise to love us and a symbol of inclusion for all in our community!

PA Day: Friday June 4

Friday June 4th is a professional activity day for teachers. There will be no school for students on this day.

Multicultural Rosary Circle

We would like to thank all those who came out in prayerful solidarity during the month of May to pray the Rosary in many of the languages of our community. We would like to give a special shout out to Barbara Jancetic-Jelecanin, our Catholic School Council OAPCE liaison representative for spearheading this initiative, and to Ms. Pawlowski, Mr. Gronau and Ms. Bledowski for making up the committee.
