Weekly Update: May 10 – 14

Dear Parents and Guardians:

We wish all our mothers a very safe and blessed day! As we enter the 6th joyful week of Easter, we would like to extend our appreciation to all parents and family members who were able to virtually join us in our Catholic Education Week celebrations. We are so proud of our staff and students and how they model our faith on a daily basis!

We encourage you to continue to follow Public Health advisories.

Each Thursday a reminder will be sent to our families via school messenger, with an open link to all
SAOP Families to freely join our Rosary Circle. We warmly invite you to join us in solidarity of faith as we pray the JOYOUS MYSTERIES of the blessed Rosary for our whole school community, and all God’s children all over the world, who’ve been touched and impacted in various ways over these challenging times of worldwide pandemic. We warmly welcome and encourage all St. Anthony’s families, and students from FDK to Grade 8 to participate in this faith and community building initiative we’ll be hosting

If you or your children are able to volunteer to lead a decade for one or all of the scheduled times, please fill in the VOLUNTEER FORM so that we can plan accordingly. As a leader, we also invite you to pray in the beauty of your own language if you feel comfortable doing so. We are a rich and multiculturally diverse school community, so we invite prayer in all languages spoken.

Asian Heritage Month

Asian Heritage Month has been celebrated across Canada since the 1990s. In May 2002, the Government of Canada signed an official declaration to designate May as Asian Heritage Month.

Over the last two centuries, immigrants have journeyed to Canada from East Asia, Southern Asia, Western and Southeast Asia, bringing our society a rich cultural heritage representing many languages, ethnicities and religious traditions.

This month, HCDSB recognizes the long and rich history of Asian Canadians and their contributions to the growth and prosperity of our country.

Join us as we celebrate Asian Heritage Month virtually with multiple activities and resources to enjoy at home with your family! Please see the flyer for more details.

Catholic School Council Meeting
