Weekly Update: October 21 – 25

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Thank you for your continued support. As per the recent e-mail that was sent home, please be cautious as you enter and leave the parking area and to follow our Kiss and Ride expectations. To ensure safety, remind your children to please enter and leave the school yard using the side walks and to cross the road where there is a designated crossing guard. Students should not be walking between cars.

Election Day: Monday, October 21

The gymnasium will be a poling station from 9:30 AM until 9:30 PM. Signs will be posted outside with directions for entering the school.

The Big Crunch: Thursday, October 24

Halton Food For Thought is donating apples for all staff and students to promote healthy eating. In classrooms, students will discuss healthy options.

Halloween: Thursday, October 31

John’s No Frills will be donating a pumpkin for each class to decorate in preparation for our upcoming Halloween Dance on October 31. Students may dress in costumes on this day. Costumes should not include masks, weapons, or other accessories that could pose a safety hazard to students. Costumes should also be in line with our Catholic values which promote the dignity of all persons. We have a DJ booked for the day and classes will be called down to participate. Parents may attend during their child’s scheduled time. Please ensure you sign in and out when entering the school. Thank you to our Catholic School Council for decorating the gym for this event.

SAOP will be hosting a Halloween Dance during the day. Classes will be called to the gym for their dance time. A schedule will be posted closer to the date. Students are permitted to wear costumes on this day. Please ensure that costumes reflect our Catholic values, follow the board dress code and are respectful of human life. Masks, accessories and weapons should not be brought to school as they will be confiscated and returned at the end of the day.
