The Advent Season is upon us! This season of Advent, this beginning of the Church’s new liturgical year, is an opportunity for us to take the time to enjoy the journey, to proceed a little more slowly and intentionally towards Christmas – to notice what God is doing in our lives, and in the world around us, to help us be better prepared to welcome Jesus anew. We look forward to sharing this Advent Season with you. Our Grade 3s are preparing an Advent Liturgy, which will be available on Monday next week during our 2nd week of Advent.

Thank you all for your participation in our Parent/Teacher Interviews last week. Please continue to communicate with your child’s teacher to ensure consistent connections with the classroom. With only three weeks of school left before our Christmas break, we have a lot of activities happening in our school. Please see below for some information and updates:

Our next Focus on Faith Liturgy will be Friday, December 17th in the morning. This month’s theme is Community and the Common Good, our Grade 3 and Grade 5 classroom focus. For more information on this month’s theme, please click here: https://elem.hcdsb.org/stanne/2021/11/focus-on-faith-community-the-common-good/.

Our Advent Food Drive has begun! We are now currently collecting items for the Burlington Food Bank. Please check with your child’s classroom for specific items. We have two giant bins to fill in our front foyer, so do what you can this season to help those most in need.

Our Grade 8 students are supporting our Angel Tree initiative this year, with cards labeled and ready to go for you to choose. If you are able to donate a specific gift based on our “angel cards” please reach out to your child’s teacher to give them permission to take a card from our Angel Tree for you to purchase a gift for a designated age range. All donations need to be at our school by Wednesday, December 15th. Thank you for supporting our student led initiatives this year and giving back to our community during this Advent Season.

St. Anne is excited to welcome back the X-Movement program to our school, to help re-engage, and energize our entire community! This week, X-Movement Energizers will be here to work with each classroom cohort in our Gym as the first of three visits this year. In February, there will be a community virtual event to engage our families! Look for information to come out closer to February.

Friday, December 3rd will be another St. Anne Spirit Wear Day! If you have the gear, you can wear it as part of the regular uniform day. Our online store is NOW OPEN. Please check our website for more information:

Please continue to do what you need to do to ensure the health and safety of our community. Please continue to follow all current Public Health and Safety guidelines and complete the school screening daily (https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/) for each child before coming to school. We thank you for your continued efforts! Please stay healthy and safe.
