Tuesday, November 2, 2021

Here are a few pieces of information and some reminders to get us through the rest of this week:

Our first PIZZA DAY is this Thursday. Thank you to the volunteers who are ready to tackle this first return to a hot lunch day. Let’s hope it goes smoothly!

Information was sent out to our Grade 8 families regarding Corpus Christi’s Grade 8 Information Night on Thursday, November 4th starting at 6:30pm. For a refresher, please click their flyer found here: https://elem.hcdsb.org/stanne/2021/10/corpus-christis-gr-8-parent-info-night/

A reminder that our PHOTO RETAKE DAY is this Friday, November 5th. If you would like a retake, please inform your child’s teacher so they are aware and can send down your child for a new photo. If you missed the first photo day, please remind your child’s teacher so they have a chance to get their school photo taken.

Thank you for supporting our Halloween Dance-a-thon Fundraiser this year! We managed to create a schedule to ensure every class had some time in the gym for their dance, one cohort at a time. Even though it was different, the students were able to dance for a bit and have more fun activities in their own classrooms. Thank you to all who were able to provide donations to our school. We look forward to continuing to support our needs to our students here at St. Anne!

Each month we will highlight one of our grade specific Catholic Social Teachings (CST) that make up our Focus on Faith initiative with our Board. These CST allow all of us to live our teachings as Jesus has taught us, showing us how to achieve the Catholic Graduate Expectations by putting our faith in action. This month’s CST we are highlighting is Promotion of Peace, the Focus on Faith theme for Grade 2. For information about this theme, please visit our website: https://elem.hcdsb.org/stanne/2021/11/focus-on-faith-promotion-of-peace/

We are so very fortunate to have Father Gregory from St. Paul the Apostle Church offer to visit our school this year. Mr. Melanson met with him a few weeks ago to create a plan to allow Father Gregory to begin connecting with our students, starting with our Sacramental Year students in Grades 2 and 7. For a message from Father Gregory, please click here: https://elem.hcdsb.org/stanne/2021/11/a-message-from-father-gregory/

Some of our Grade 6 students are busily preparing our Remembrance Day Virtual Liturgy for next week. Stay tuned for information on how you can access the presentation for November 11th.

And don’t forget this Saturday, November 6th Daylight Saving Time ends, and we turn our clocks back an hour at 2:00am! Make sure you have the correct time on Sunday so that we see everyone on time on Monday.

Please continue to follow all current Public Health and Safety guidelines and complete the school screening daily (https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/) for each child before coming to school. Thank you for all you are doing to keep us all safe and healthy here at St. Anne Catholic School. Don’t let your guard down as we keep going strong!
