It’s another Monday and we are back to a full week at St. Anne! Here are a few pieces of information and some reminders to get us through this week:

Don’t forget to get your PIZZA DAY orders to the school! Please complete your order and return to the school before Friday, October 22nd! The first Pizza Day will be on Thursday, November 4th. Please complete one order per child and return to your child’s teacher this week. Pizza Days will operate in accordance with Halton Public Health and HCDSB’s Return to School Plan and Volunteer Protocols.

Our Special Education department is preparing all Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to go home tomorrow, October 19th! If you do not receive your child’s IEP either electronically, or in hard copy form by Wednesday, please connect with our SERTs.

Friday, October 22nd will be another St. Anne Spirit Wear Day! If you have the gear, you can wear it as part of the regular uniform day. We are hoping to have the online store up for November if you wish to purchase any Spirit Wear items so stay tuned for more information!

Guidance Counsellors from Corpus Christi will be in on Wednesday this week, visiting our Grade 8 classes to begin to discuss the process of preparing for High School. Information about Grade 9 course selection will be the focus.

If you missed our school PHOTO DAY do not fret! Pegasus will be back in our school on Friday, November 5th for Retakes.

Halloween is fast approaching! With our current restrictions and the most recent information in our Return to School Plan, we will be hosting a Halloween Dance-a-thon and Fundraiser this year, even though it will be a scaled down version as to what we are used to. Students (and staff!) will be able to wear costumes on Friday, October 29th and will be able to visit the gym for a short Halloween Dance! We will not be collecting items for prizes this year, and our decorations will be kept to a minimum in accordance with the current Public Health restrictions. We are hoping to raise funds to help support our school! Please see below information on how you and anyone you know can Donate to our school! Information regarding some questions to consider when choosing Halloween costumes can be found on our website:

Our Halloween Dance-a-thon Fundraiser is back! We are now collecting Donations over the next two weeks to raise funds to support our classrooms and tech needs! If you are able to donate, or know people who can, please click here for more information about our Halloween Fundraising initiative and how you can help:

Our Big Box Fundraiser cards will be here soon! Our classroom teachers will be organizing delivery to ensure that our products are staying within a cohort. Family orders will go to the OLDEST child’s classroom. Please connect with the classroom teachers if you will need to pick up larger orders and they can arrange to have items at the office. Otherwise, boxes will be sent home with your child once they arrive. Stay tuned!

Next week we will be celebrating our students with a virtual Focus on Faith Liturgy. Each month we will highlight one of our grade specific Catholic Social Teachings (CST) that make up our Focus on Faith initiative with our Board. These CST allow all of us to live our teachings as Jesus has taught us, showing us how to achieve the Catholic Graduate Expectations by putting our faith in action. This month’s CST we are highlighting is Solidarity, the Focus on Faith theme for Grade 8. For information about this theme, please visit our website: https://elem.hcdsb.org/stanne/2021/10/solidarity/

Continue to follow all current Public Health and Safety guidelines and complete the school screening daily (https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/) for each child before coming to school. Please remember to wear your masks when you cannot be physically and socially distanced, especially at dismissal time in our Kindergarten area. Please spread out using the back playground zones and be mindful of classes that may still be outside finishing up activities. Thank you for all you are doing to keep us all safe and healthy here at St. Anne Catholic School!
