School Update: May 13

Happy Wednesday everyone!

We hope you are having a good week as our weather finally shows us that Spring is here! Here are a few updates for this week:

Each year, the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) celebrates exceptional students across our school district at the Annual Student Awards of Excellence Ceremony. This year, due to COVID-19 precautions in place, we are recognizing and congratulating our student recipients virtually! Congratulations to Aaron Bareno, a grade 8 student, who won the Student Award of Excellence for our school! To read about Aaron, please click on our school website link here:

We look forward to honouring Aaron at our Grade 8 Graduation ceremony on Monday, June 21st as well as during our End of the Year Liturgy on Friday, June 18th. Congratulations Aaron!

At the Halton Catholic District School Board, we want our school communities to be safe and welcoming places. School Climate Surveys are conducted every two years to gather information from parents, students, and staff to help us create and sustain safe and welcoming schools. All parents in our school community are invited to complete the School Climate Parent Survey. The survey will be available online May 10, 2021 through May 24, 2021. Parents are encouraged to check their email inbox, as they would have received an email invitation to complete the survey online.  This voluntary survey is completely confidential, and respondents will remain anonymous. The survey asks parents to share their thoughts on their child(ren)’s school environment. If you have any questions or you would like more information about the survey, please contact Research and Development Services at research@hcdsb.org. We value your input and greatly appreciate your support! Thank you for participating.

Information about our Grade 8 Graduation plans will be communicated this week to our families of those students. Please make sure that you keep Monday, June 21st at 6:30pm clear for our virtual ceremony. More information will come as we plan for this milestone for our students!

Please continue to be vigilant with all the latest information and health & safety protocols from Halton Public Health. We hope you all continue to stay safe and healthy during this current stay-at-home order and this period of remote learning!
