Good morning to our St. Anne families! We hope that you are staying healthy and staying home! There are not a lot of updates to tell you about as we all wait for further information from the Ministry of Education as to when our remote learning will end, and we can be back in school. Until then, hang in there and keep doing what you can to continue learning each and every day!
Today is the United Nation’s Holocaust Memorial Day, which all schools across the HCDSB will be participating in a prayer and reflection, along with synchronous presentations. You can watch today’s prayer service by clicking on this link:
During this period of remote learning, we continue to be flexible! Please make sure that you keep in touch with your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns and help reinforce proper online expectations. As we also follow the “stay at home order” at the school building, we need to communicate via emails as much as possible as we don’t have staff available to answer the phone at times. Please know ALL email addresses of staff can be found on our St. Anne School Website, under “Contact” and then Staff Directory. There is a lot of information posted on our website as well, so please bookmark this site for easy access. Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Now, more than ever, ongoing communication between home and school is key to your child’s success and well-being.
As we await final approval from Public Health and our Board to allow our school photographer, Pegasus, to be allowed into our school, we are looking ahead to assist with special occasions such as Grade 8 Graduation. Pegasus has informed that they DO have an off-site studio currently available in Stoney Creek, but will also be looking to set up “pop up” studios in Halton and other areas IF they are not allowed back in to schools to take the photos on site. Pegasus is still hopeful that they will be able to take the photos at the school as this is the most convenient option for our school community, and for Pegasus! Please stay tuned for more information about things like Graduation as we progress through this Ontario wide shutdown.
And with everything happening online, we are still proceeding with our Fundraising initiatives, so don’t forget if you visit COBS in Headon Forest (safely with masks of course!) mention that you are from St. Anne! Our FlipGive app/site is also still available to purchase items for yourself from various places! Both COBS and FlipGive give us percentages back every time! Please continue to follow the advice from Halton Public Health, by washing your hands, wearing your masks when required, and staying 6 feet apart from others if you must go out for essential reasons. Together as a community we can overcome this! Stay home and stay healthy!
