Family Day – February 18
A reminder that Monday, February 18th is a holiday. Please enjoy your time with your family!
Black History Month
As we are half-way through Black History Month, our students have been learning about and celebrating the many wonderful contributions made throughout history by Black Canadians and African Americans. Please ask your children at home what they have been learning about.
On Thursday last week, we had some very special guests join us at school for our Breakfast Club Program sponsored by Halton Food for Thought. Thank you to Director Pat Daly, Trustee Peter DeRosa, Carrie Baillie from HFFT, Sarah Allen from FirstOntario, and a very special thank you to our wonderful moms – Stefania Carone and Janice Mothersill who make our Breakfast Club Program a reality! Public Speaking Competition
On Tuesday, February 19th we will be having our School Level Public Speaking Competition. Two representatives from each grade from 4-8 will be taking part in our school level speech competition at 1 PM in our gymnasium. One student will be selected to go on to the municipal speech levels. Good luck to all of our speakers!
Term 1 Report Cards
All students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 will be bringing home their reports on Wednesday. These reports are an excellent opportunity for you to celebrate your child’s successes and ask them about their goals for the rest of the year. While there are no formal interviews this term, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher if you wish to discuss their learning. As well, for students in Grades 1-8, please sign and return the last portion of the report card to your child’s teacher as soon as possible.
St. Andrew will be hosting our first ever Science Fair this Thursday and Friday. Our Intermediate students have been working very hard on their Science Fair Projects for the last several weeks. On Thursday, they will be formally displayed in the gymnasium for our visiting judges. They will be available for public viewing on Friday afternoon from 1:00 pm – 2:15 pm in our gymnasium. Take down will be from 2:30 pm – 3:00 pm.
