GET READY TO BOOGIE!
On Wednesday, October 31st, we will be hosting our ANNUAL ST. ANDREW BOOGIE-A-THON! This is our one major fundraiser for the year. The money from our fundraiser will be used to purchase items and activities for our students that will enhance their experiences here at St. Andrew School.
For every $10 donation, your child will receive one ticket for a chance to win a fabulous prize. There will also be prizes for the FDK, Primary, Junior and Intermediate classes that raise the most money. Classes will be able to choose from: pizza party, movie day, technology party, sundae party, pajama day, or any request that receives principal approval. To be eligible for prizes, all money must be received by Wednesday, October 31st. The draw for prizes will take place on Friday, November 2nd. There will also be an Early Bird Draw for donations received by Friday, October 19th .
The easiest and most helpful way for you to donate is through our School Cash Online Make a Donation Button.
Then Complete the following steps:
- Gift Information – select an amount
- Select Destination – Andrew
- Tribute Information – “Not a tribute gift”
- Message to School Board – student name, specify amount donated per child
- Click – “Add to Cart”
If you would like to donate via cheque, you can follow the instructions on our pledge form which you can download here: BOO-GIE-A-THON FLYER 2018 . A hard copy came home with your child last week.
It is our hope to use fundraising dollars to purchase faster and more versatile technology that will allow our students to connect and collaborate with other students and experts as they develop their 21st Century competencies.
Physical activity is important for children’s health, brain development and intellect. Being physically active before, during and after school has been proven to improve academic performance. Physical Education and sports are a huge part of our St. Andrew School community and we are in need of new equipment for our gymnasium. We also are in need of new playground equipment for our children to play with at recess that is safe, durable, and fun.
Last year we began changing our Library into a Learning Commons. This transition included the addition of a Makerspace to develop students’ problem solving and creativity through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) activities. Our Makerspace was so successful that we would like to continue to build on what we started so that more children can experience this space. We would also like to purchase new furniture for the Library so as to create options for flexible seating.
Funds will also be used to continue providing our students with exciting learning opportunities in the form of subsidies for field trips, guest speakers, and specialty programs brought into the school.
But to make all of these things happen, we need your help! Any financial support you can offer is most welcome and appreciated!
Thank you for helping us to make St. Andrew School the BEST SCHOOL IN THE UNIVERSE!
