EQAO – Let’ Show What We Know!

At St. Andrew Catholic School, we understand that the purpose of the E.Q.A.O. assessment is to promote academic excellence and improvement in student achievement throughout all schools in our province.  As educators, we respond to our E.Q.A.O. results with appropriate accountability, integrity and due diligence.  As a Catholic school and as Catholic educators, however, we are called to respond in a distinctive manner for we believe that our students are described not only in terms of knowledge and skills, but also in terms of values, attitudes and actions.  When we encourage our students to utilize all of their God given gifts to the best of their ability, we are fostering an environment of servitude and promoting the understanding that we are loved and valued as children of God because of who we are rather than how we perform and what we produce.

Our Grade 3 students will be participating in the EQAO Primary Assessments on Tuesday, May 29th – Thursday, May 31st.

Our Grade 6 students will be participating in the EQAO Junior Assessments on Wednesday, May 23rd, Thursday, May 24th, Monday, May 28th and Tuesday, May 29th.

The types of questions in the EQAO test booklets will be familiar to your child as they are based on the work your child has been doing throughout the year. Sample questions can be viewed on the EQAO website at www.eqao.com.

We ask that you make every effort to avoid holidays during these days and to try to make sure your children are in attendance each day during the assessment.  In advance, we appreciate your efforts in scheduling appointments around this block of time.

The EQAO assessment results help us to continue to improve upon the quality Catholic education offered to your children
