Let us all remember this: one cannot proclaim the Gospel of Jesus wihout the tangible witness of one’s life. ~ Pope Francis
First Holy Communion
Congratulations to our Grade 2 students who celebrated their First Holy Communion on Sunday. Thank you to our teachers Mrs. Fiesser, Mrs. Meeussen, Mrs. Ramelli, and Mr. Scott for helping our little ones to prepare so beautifully. Many thanks to Fr. John Van Hees, Marisa Patskou, the music ministers, altar services and the entire parish team for making this day so special!
Lord, give us the wisdom and the courage to help our children as you would
to develop in them a Christ-like love for all people …
To nurture in them a desire to give and not simply to take …
to teach them to be doers of Your Holy Word.
Guide us in our parental responsibilities,
strengthen our love as a family
so that we may work together in coming closer to You.
May we be the expression of Your love to our children
so that each day will be as today …
Your love received and shared …
to help us be one in the Body of Christ.

Catholic Education Week
This year’s Catholic Education Week theme is “Renewing the Promise.”
The theme for CEW 2018 draws upon previous documents on Ontario Catholic education, namely, “This Moment of Promise” (1989), “Fulfilling the Promise” (1993) and “Our Catholic Schools” (2006-2007). These three documents, while several years apart from each other, all speak of the unique mission of Ontario Catholic education, the importance of its shared leadership by all those involved in Catholic education and the critical role of Catholic education in contemporary society.
Catholic Education Week 2018 combines the themes of reconciliation, solidarity, love, justice and ecology.
There are five sub-themes for each day of Catholic Education Week:
Day 1: Remembering the Promise
Day 2: The Promise is Within You
Day 3: Praying the Promise
Day 4: Living the Promise
Day 5: Proclaiming the Promise
We will be holding a special Mass on Monday, May 2nd, 2018 at 10:00 am at Mary Mother of God Parish for all students in grades 1 – 8. All are welcome, we would love for you to come and pray with us!
