We will hold a system-wide Pride Awareness Day – a day to reaffirm our commitment to honour the dignity and worth of each member of our community by nurturing safe, welcoming and inclusive schools where all students can feel a true sense of belonging.
SHOJ students are again encouraged to show their support by dressing brightly in rainbow colours or dress completely in one of the colours of the rainbow!
There will be a school liturgy at 9:30 a.m. in your child’s regular class meeting recognizing Pride Awareness and linking to an observation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Feast Day is June 11th). These will be recognized together in this liturgy. As noted in the Board’s email to parents on Pride month, “June is the month traditionally devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which for Catholics is a sign and symbol of God’s boundless and passionate love for all humanity.”
