Rapid Antigen Test Kits

Rapid Antigen Test Kits

On Wednesday, December 15th your child will be taking home a Rapid Antigen Screening Kit for voluntary use over the Christmas holiday.

The rapid antigen screening kits have been provided by the Government of Ontario for every student who attends in-person learning at a publicly funded school.  These kits may be used by any student, regardless of their vaccination status, however, should only be used when a child is asymptomatic (does not have any symptoms of COVID-19) and has not had any exposure to a confirmed case of COVID-19.

Please note, your child’s participation in this rapid antigen screening is voluntary and is not a required action for return to school after the Christmas break.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we work closely with the Ministry of Education and Halton Public Health to help keep our community safe and healthy for all.

Scent Awareness

Please keep in mind that our school is a scent sensitive environment where we have students and staff members with very severe allergies to any fragrances such as perfume, cologne, and scented hand/body lotions/sprays. Please do not wear this when visiting or volunteering in the school and please do not have your child wearing these products. We appreciate your support and cooperation in this regard!

Christmas Initiative for Catholic Children’s Aid Society

We are continuing with our annual school Christmas donations to support families who are part of the Catholic Children’s Aid Society. In the past, our wonderful SHOJ families have been so generous as we support 50 families and we make a positive difference in their lives at Christmas!

This year, once again due to Covid-19, our collection will look differently at the request of the CCAS, and we still anticipate making another amazing impact!

We need your help! As a Catholic Faith community, we will join together in this worthwhile cause!

All monetary donations will be made through School Cash Online at Parents may pay here in set donation amounts of $10, $20, $30 or a combination of each. All collected money will go to the CCAS who will use this money to purchase appropriate gift cards for our fifty sponsored families. To further the impact of your generosity, your monetary gift will be matched by the Diocese of Hamilton!

The deadline for all donations is Tuesday, December 14, 2021.

Toiletries Drive for the Burlington Food Bank

This Advent season we are supporting the Burlington Food Bank who indicate that they are most in need of toiletry items for families this holiday season i.e. toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoos, soap, deodorant, body wash, etc. Please send these to school with your child who may place these in a bin located in each classroom. The deadline for all donations is Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
