Welcome to a brand new week. With thanksgiving behind us and Halloween coming up fast we would like to remind parents and students that our Halloween Dance-a-thon will take place on Tuesday, October 31st. Students are encouraged to dress up in their spookiest, most spectacular costumes and be prepared to get their groove on as we dance the day away! The Dance-a-thon is our big fundraiser for the year, with funds going to school initiatives that support student achievement and well-being. Please remember to turn in your pledge forms by the 31st to be eligible for prizes!
- LunchBox Orders: Please note that if a child is absent on a day they have ordered lunch from LunchBox their lunch will be sent to the office and kept in the fridge. Parents are free to pick it up from the office after lunch or the child can pick it up the next day. Please note that parents can go online and cancel lunch orders 48 hours prior to the lunch day. LunchBox cannot be responsible for making changes after that time, nor can the school office.
- As the colder weather comes upon us we remind parents to make sure that children are dressed appropriately for the weather. We also remind parents to send a pair of indoor shoes to school.
- Throughout the school year the school participates in practice drills of our emergency procedures plan. This includes 6 fire drills, 2 lockdowns and 2 bomb threat assessments. Please note that these are practice only and that in the event of a real threat communication with parents would be swift and immediate.
- We wish our grade 4-8 students well as they participate in the board Cross Country Meet this week at Kelso.
Clubs and Teams:
QH is proud to have numerous clubs and teams that students can participate in weekly. Here is a sample of the extracurricular happens at QH for the fall:
- Games club
- Coding club
- Arts club
- Dramatic arts club
- Cross Country
- Wellness club
- Student Ambassadors
We want to thank our staff that give their time and energy supporting our students in these extracurricular events.
Parking Lot Reminder:
As the season changes and more begin to drive to school we need to remember that our parking lot is extremely busy before and after school. Parents are reminded that they must adhere to the signs posted regarding stopping and parking and that rules of the road apply. Student safety is of utmost concern to us and we ask that everyone remember that impatience and disrespect threatens this safety. Please make sure that all your actions reflect the kindness, dignity and respect we preach as a matter of our Faith. We thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Have a wonderful week!
