Highlights for this week…

Thanksgiving Food Drive

As a school community, parents, students, and staff came together to support those in need in a big way – 3128 non-perishable items were donated! The Thanksgiving Food drive was a huge success. All donations went to the Food for Life Food Drive. Food for Life has grown into the largest food recovery program in Halton Region bringing fresh and nutritious food to those in need. Thank you for your generosity!

A Message from Dr. Meghani

As we head into this Thanksgiving long weekend, it continues to be important that we work together to follow public health measures so that we can ensure a safe and healthy learning environment for all students, families and staff in our school community.

Dr. Hamidah Meghani, Chief Officer of Health for Halton Region has provided the following letter to parents and guardians: Fall & Winter Gatherings 2021.

As Dr. Meghani noted in her message, we must remain vigilant as we look forward to celebrating the many holidays, seasonal gatherings, festive occasions, and other events in the fall and winter months to help keep our community safe.

Please continue to follow the advice of our Public Health professionals to help minimize the spread of COVID-19 in our community and to protect your loved ones.

Reminders from the Office

Fire Route/Bus Zone

The main entrance and driveway of the school is a designated Fire Route. The only vehicles that can park in the main entrance to pick up and drop off students are the buses/vans from Halton Student Transportation Services and registered daycare vehicles. All other vehicles must park in the school parking lot or do a quick Kiss and Ride and drive through to drop off/pick up students.

There is limited street parking at the corner of Commercial Road and Oriole Court which may assist families who are dropping off Kindergarten students in Room 3. Public Health protocols require students to enter the school through the closest exterior exit to their classroom. Thank you for making the extra effort to walk from the parking lot or street parking to drop off/pick up your children.

Thank you to the families and students who walk or ride bikes/scooters to and from school. Please continue to use the street sidewalk on Commercial Road to reduce the foot traffic in the bus zone/fire route to help us keep everyone safe.

Thanksgiving Food Drive
Sep 27 – Oct 7 all day
Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful for the many blessings that we have such as good health, family, friends, shelter, and food. We will continue the initiative with our Thanksgiving Food Drive. As a school community, we have decided to support those in need through the Food for Life Food Drive. Food for Life has grown into the largest food recovery program in Halton Region bringing fresh and nutritious food to those in need. This year we will be able to collect non-perishable canned/boxed food.  Let’s work together as a school community to provide families in need with food this Thanksgiving.
