Class Lists for 2019 – 2020

Are you moving over the summer? Do you have information to share that will help staff decide the best placement for your child(ren) in the next school year? As a staff, many factors go into the decisions to create a balanced set of class lists for the coming school year. Please advise Mrs. Osti or your child’s teacher if you know that you will be moving this summer. Please put in writing and address to the attention of Mrs. Morrissey/Ms. Laforet any information about your child’s learning needs and/or concerns that would help staff make the best possible decision for class placements in 2019-2020 school year. While friendships are considered, these are not the deciding factor as friendships naturally evolve and change among children. Thank you for your partnership with the school and Parish to create a Catholic learning environment to benefit all children.

What is Vacation Bible School?

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a faith based Kids for Jesus (K4J) camp provided by our Catholic Parishes, Holy Rosary and St. Benedict.  It is always the second week of August so mark your calendars now!

August 12-16 2019  Holy Rosary Catholic Elementary School.

This year`s theme is K4J Surfin` with the Holy Spirit.

How a day goes:

9am Parents sign their child in at their homeroom, then the K4J Guide will give them a T-shirt (to be worn daily) and a name tag (to remain at school). Once all children are signed in the guide begins the day with the K4J Prayer and the K4J Pledge, then moves with the children to the Holy Spirit Hall opening assembly. This is followed by rotation through the various station activities, Cool Craft, Get Moving Games, Seaside Snacks, Missionaries in Motion and Party Prep: Music and Chapel Time.  All of which are focused on the Holy Hero Saint of the Day. Grade 4s returned to their homeroom for a more advance focus and activities and Grade 5-8s also return to their homeroom to prepare Skits for the end of day Assemblies.  Children are to be signed out and collected from their homerooms promptly at 11:30 am.

Friday is extra special as families are asked to join us for 8am mass at Holy Rosary Parish before camp begins then when you return at 11:30am each class will perform a song they have learned from the K4J Surfin’ with the Holy Spirit CD (available for purchase) followed by a potluck picnic to enjoy and connect with our camp community.

VBS is staffed by a wonderful, dedicated team of volunteers ALL of whom have a Criminal Record and vulnerable Sector Check.  Many are parents themselves and /or work in the field of Education.  High School volunteers will provide additional support to our adult Guides and Station Leaders.

Completed Registration Forms and payments can be dropped off at either Holy Rosary or St. Benedict Parish Offices.

For more information kindly Contact Kim Curley  or the Parish Office at 905-875-6535.
