Highlights for this week…
The Annual Grandparents’ Tea was a huge success thanks to the dedication of members of the OLV School Council and to parent volunteers who gave their time to organize, set up, and run the event. A special thank you to Alissa Bartlett, Deborah Bernardino, Christine Irwin, Jen Squires, Martyna Kalapaca, Melanie Price, and Nicole Tomaino. Thank you to the staff and students who gave their time and talents to set up and make the gym a welcoming space. Finally, thank you to all the grandparents who came out to spend part of their day with their grandchildren. We loved having your company and are looking forward to next year’s event!
Seussical Jr. Performances
The initial ticket sales on SchoolCash online are set at three tickets per family. There are two scheduled performances – one during the afternoon and one in the evening – on Tuesday, June 4, 2019. The Kindergarten students will perform during the day performance only. Due to the Fire Code regulations there are limitations on the number of people permitted in the audience at each performance. Any remaining tickets will be sorted once the initial ticket sales are completed. Thank you for your enthusiasm for the debut of musical theater at OLV.
Stream of Dreams
The JK/SK and Grade 1 students will be participating in water conservation talks and painting wooden fish cut outs this week to create a Stream of Dreams for the fencing on the Kindergarten yard. Thank you to Mrs. Markobrada and the Kindergarten team for your creative talents and leadership.
Spirit Day – Wear Purple for Peace
On Friday, May 17, 2019, staff and students are invited to wear purple to celebrate and pray for peace.
