About Our Catholic School Council

THE 2010-2022 CATHOLIC SCHOOL COUNCIL

Our Lady of Peace Catholic School Council is established for the purpose of developing, encouraging and promoting activities which will enhance the quality of school programs and improve levels of student achievement. The members of the Council include parent representatives, teaching staff member, non-teaching staff member, parish representative, community representative, and principal (administrator).

The Catholic School Council provides advice to the principal and where appropriate, to the School Board, on issues outlined by the Ministry of Education and Training. Elections take place in the fall and additional information is provided in communications in early September (weekly updates and website).

Parent(s) and/or Guardian(s) are welcome to attend meetings. Information about meeting dates and times will be shared through the website and through weekly updates. Until further notice, all meetings this year will be virtual.

Parents are invited to become actively involved in our school as many hands make for lighter work. Volunteers are required to have a vulnerable sector screening (police check) prior to their involvement in the school. We will provide the community with more information about requirements for volunteers during COVID-19 as we work with public health to develop our protocols.

School Council Meeting Dates

All meetings will take place on Mondays at 6:30 pm. Members of our school community are welcome to attend. Our first Council meeting of 2021-2022 is scheduled for Monday, October 4. Future meeting dates will be set at the first meeting and posted here.
