Safe Arrival/ Attendance

The safety and wellbeing of our students is our highest priority, and we are happy to announce that this year our school will be moving to a new automated student attendance management system called SafeArrival.

The SafeArrival system will be available 24/7, allowing you to report your child’s absence in one of three ways:

  1. Using the SchoolMessenger® mobile app
  2. By logging into the SchoolMessenger®  web site
  3. By calling into an interactive toll-free phone line at 1-844-445-4505

SafeArrival will enhance our existing student attendance procedure, making it more convenient for parents to report a child’s absence, and more efficient for our school office staff to follow up sooner on unexplained absences.

Please help us to save valuable time and ensure the safety of your children by using the system to report absences.

If you have not yet signed up for SchoolMessenger, please use the link below:

IMPORTANT

Please DO NOT EMAIL requests for early dismissal for appointments, or messages for teachers. Please use the agenda to communicate with your child/ren’s teacher.

If your child needs to leave school early for an appointment – please ensure that you notify the teacher in the agenda so that they have enough time to get your child ready in advance and give them any homework.

If you have a last minute appointment – please call the school at least 30 minutes in advance to allow the office to locate your child’s class, give your child time to get ready and get any homework from their teacher.

During Announcements, the phones are put on hold to minimize disruptions – so you may not be able to get through on our Attendance Line at this time (Approximately 8:20 am to 8:30 am)

Daily Attendance

Please review the Student Code of Conduct, specifically the sections entitled “Regular Attendance” and “Punctuality” with your child.  When children are in elementary school, punctuality and regular attendance are primarily a parental responsibility.  Our first bell rings at 8:20 a.m. please ensure your child is at school to socialize and join their classmates and teacher in line.  Please ensure that you have examined your family routines to ensure that school attendance and arrival is a priority for you and your children. For more information please refer Attendance Works Handout
