“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.” -St. Francis

We hope that everyone had a wonderful week and a safe Halloween.  It was another great week at OLF, and we look forward to a great week this week.

We thank you for your ongoing support to allow OLF to provide the best possible school experience for your children. This is a year like no other, and in these challenging times, your support – and the bonds of our community – mean more than ever. We are very thankful for this, and for the privilege of being back at school teaching your children again this year.

Student Morning Arrival

Any students who arrives after the 8:20 bell, should enter the school through the front doors.  Students can buzz and our office staff will allow them to enter.  Parents, as per our “Return to School” policy, will not be permitted in the building.  We appreciate your assistance with keeping our school safe.

Weather is Changing

The weather is getting cooler and we have noticed more students being dropped off in the morning.  To keep our parking lots safe, we would like to remind any parents using the KissNRide lanes to pull up as far forward as they can to drop off their child.  Staff members are lined up along the sidewalk to help your child get to their destination.  Dropping off your child at the gate causes congestion in the parking lot.  We thank you for your support in this.

On another note, as the weather is getting cooler, please remember warmer jackets, hats and mittens if necessary.

Daily Screening

Thank you to all parents/guardians for performing daily screening of their child(ren) for COVID-19 symptoms before leaving for school.  We appreciate you helping our school in preventing the spread of COVID-19.  Please note: This screening tool has been updated once again as of October 1st, as the Ministry of Health determine various changes in symptoms of COVID-19

Student Belongings

As we continue to try to keep limited number of students in the hallways, it is important that students bring what they need with them in the morning.  This includes, books, agendas, water bottles, and clothing.  Again, we appreciate your support in trying to keep our school safe.

Halloween Dance-A-Thon 2020

Our Halloween Dance-A-Thon was a huge success!  We loved seeing our students at school in their costumes.  Please check out many pictures from our Dance-A-Thon on Twitter.  We also held our annual staff costume competition.  Staff did an amazing job of coordinating costumes but congratulations to the teachers in the junior division (both face to face and virtual) for winning the competition.
