Weekly Update: January 20-24

We had another great week this past week. We look forward to another great week at OLF.

Teacher Job Action

Labour Negotiations Update
Our school will be CLOSED to students on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 as a result of the recent announcement by OECTA of a province-wide, one-day full withdrawal of services.

Although classes will be cancelled on Tuesday, January 21st, our school office will remain open for Advanced Kindergarten Registration on January 21st.

Please note that there may be picket lines present at our school location, which may impact traffic flow and cause potential minor delays in our school parking lot.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. For more information, please visit the Halton Catholic District School Board’s website: Labour Negotiations Update.

Initiative for Australia

We are very grateful for the overwhelming response of Cookie purchases. We have raised $715 which will go directly to WIRES. We sold out of the first batch of cookies in less than 2 days. We have ordered more cookies for next week. Please keep an eye in your child(ren)’s agenda for the next purchase date. We thank you again and appreciate your support in helping those affected by the fires in Australia.

Aussie X – Dance

We welcome back Aussie X to OLF! This time they will be teaching our students the art of Dance.
“X Dance is a curriculum-based dance program that explores diversity through a high-energy and culturally rich dance experience. Students identify their unique characteristics, celebrate with the I am Xtra Awesome affirmation, and broaden their understanding of how they can make the world a more inclusive place.”
Our Community Night will take place on Thursday, January 23rd at 6:30 in the school gym. All family members are welcome to attend this fun-filled event.

Lunchbox Orders

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
With anticipation of a possible school closure on Tuesday, January 21st, Lunchbox Orders will be managing your school’s scheduled lunch deliveries on a day by day basis.

If your school is closed on Tuesday, January 21st, Lunchbox Orders will cancel your order and a credit will be placed on your Lunchbox Orders account.

The credit will be applied to your next transaction at the time of check out.

Questions? Please contact our team at 1.877.426.6860 or by email at info@lunchboxorders.com.
Thank you.

Yearbook Update

We do have some extra yearbooks from the 2018-2019 school year for purchase. If you are interested in purchasing a yearbook, please send in $20 per yearbook with your child. Due to our limited number of extras, yearbooks will be purchased on a first come, first serve basis until they are gone. Thank you.

Parking Lot

If anyone in our school community notices any by-law infraction taking place in either parking lot during pick-up and/or drop-off times, please use the MyMilton app to report the incident.

Immunization Updates

Please ensure that all Student Immunization Shots are up to date, failure to do so could result in suspension from school. If you have any questions, feel free to visit halton.ca/immunize or call 311.
