Weekly Update: January 13-17

We had a great first week back from the holidays this past week. We look forward to another great week at OLF.

New Crossing Guards

Beginning this past Monday, January 6th, you may have noticed a new crossing guard located at Yates and Symons Crossing as well as Yates and Lott Crescent to support our students before and after school. Please remember to stop and stay stopped for the students and crossing guard at these new locations.

Teacher Job Action

As you have already received an email from the Board, please keep in mind the current job action scheduled for Monday, January 13th from our teachers. We anticipate information picket lines will take place just off school property before and after school. You should not experience any significant delays as you drop off or pick up your child.

Initiative for Australia
A caring family member and responsible citizen (Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations)

Since early September, many areas of Australia are experiencing catastrophic fires that have affected communities and threatened many local species. In an effort to provide our support, staff and students have arranged a new initiative. Starting later this week, we will be selling heart-shaped Terra Cotta cookies for $2 each during the lunch hour. All proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated to WIRES Wildlife Rescue. WIRES is dedicated to the protection and preservation of animals who require our help. Please continue to keep all those affected by the fires in Australia in your prayers as the country continues to cope with this disaster. Thank you for your support with this initiative.
