Weekly Update: June 10-14

Hello OLF Families,

We hope you have been enjoying the nice sunny weather. Also, good luck to the Raptors this week as they will try to close out their NBA Final Series. GO RAPS GO! We have a lot going on this month. Please see below some of the updates for this week.

From Kidssentials: Thank you for your dedicated ordering of our fresh served hot lunch program.
There are six lunch dates left this year:

Tuesday June 11th
Thursday June 13th
Tuesday June 18th
Thursday June 20th
and the two lunches that had been cancelled due to snow days
January 29th lunch now being served on June 24th
February 12th lunch now being served on June 25th.

If you have a credit amount on your account, please be sure to use up before the end of the year. As per our policies and Terms of Service, which are outlined in our emails, promotional material and what parents check off when placing orders, we do not issue refunds.

You may use up the credit by adding healthy sides/snacks to your orders, order for any dates still available, and/or you can donate the amount to cover the cost of meals for children in need.

Again, thank you for ordering Kidssentials

We wish you and your family a great summer and a bright future.

This year through various fundraisers, our Student Council was able to raise $600 for our school Social Justice Initiative. This year our staff and students chose True North Aid as our Social Justice Initiative. Please see the link to see how donated money is used:  Great job OLF!

We are currently forming classes for next year. If you are moving out of our boundary, it is important that you inform the office immediately and register at the school that your child(ren) will be attending.

If you have not yet returned your Criminal Offence Declaration and you wish to continue volunteering, please ensure that you return the form this week to the office.

If you are sending sunscreen to school with your child, please send the lotion rather than the spray. The spray is dangerous as it can be accidently sprayed in someone’s eyes and it causes the floor to become slippery because of the oily residue from the aerosol. Thank you for your understanding.

If your child has medication at the school, it will be returned to students on the last day of school. However, if your child will be absent on the last day, please ensure that you pick up their medication from the office before the end of the year.

If you have not yet started using the School Messenger Attendance App, please take the time to download it now or over the summer.

Next year we will be moving towards using SchoolCash Online ONLY, as it is a much safer alternative than sending cash with your children and more convenient than waiting for cheques to be cashed. Please go to our website for instructions on how to set up an account for your child(ren).
