Please reference the tip sheet sent via email last week and in paper copy to schedule a meeting with any of your child’s teachers. You will be able to schedule appointments until TONIGHT at 11:00 pm.

Winter Weather

It seems winter wants to make an early appearance this year. Please continue to send in snow pants, boots, hats, gloves/mittens, extra socks, etc. this winter season.  Students are enjoying playing in the snow at recess and having them in warm/dry clothing throughout the day is very important.

Peace Week:

This week marks Peace week within our OLF school. Our week starts off with a Peace Week assembly on Monday followed by Peace Week messages all week! Check out our Twitter feed tomorrow for some exciting reveals during the assembly!

Christmas Angel Tree:

The Advent season is truly a wonderful and joyful time of year when we prepare for the coming of our Lord. It is also a time for us, as a faith-filled Catholic community, to come together in love to help those who do not enjoy our abundance and who are in need.

Once again, Our Lady of Fatima is excited to continue our tradition of supporting Halton Women’s Place. Halton Women’s Place is a foundation providing shelter and crisis services for physically, emotionally and financially abused women and their dependent children. Their mission is to end violence against women and their children. Through our generous donations, we are investing in the health of our community!

This foundation is looking for many different items; however, each division (Kindergarten, Primary, Junior & Intermediate) will be responsible for fulfilling separate needs.

Please ensure that your BRAND NEW GIFT IS UNWRAPPED. We will be accepting donations until Friday, December 7th, 2018.

KINDERGARTEN DIVISION- Baby items: baby clothes, diapers, formula, baby shampoo, soap, wash clothes, receiving blankets, baby lotion, baby food.

PRIMARY DIVISION (GRADES 1-3)- Children’s items: children’s clothing any size (hats, mitts, scarves, socks, underwear, shirts pants, sweaters etc.) ranging from ages 4-15 years old.

JUNIOR DIVISION (GRADES 4-6) –Women’s items: women’s clothing any size, deodorant, brush, combs, hair products, tooth brushes, toothpaste, bathroom supplies.

INTERMEDIATE DIVISION (GRADES 7-8)- Household items: Linens (sheets, pillow cases, blankets, comforter), pillows, towels, cleaning supplies, small kitchen gadgets (can opener, knives, spatula, spoons, cooking essentials) pots, pans, small kitchen appliances (coffee maker, kettle,), garbage can, recycling bins, dish towels.

For each donation your child will be given an angel that they can decorate and place on our Christmas Angel tree.  Let us work together as a Catholic community and fill our tree with angels.  We thank you in advance on behalf of those who will have a more joyful Christmas as a result of our generous Community.

Student Appreciations

Students will be recognized and appreciated for the wonderful things they are doing here at OLF.  Teachers will have Golden ticket appreciation forms that they will hand out to students who demonstrate the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations.  In that they are respectful, kind, caring to others and so on.  One copy of the form will be brought to the office and put into a box for each grade.  At the end of each month one ticket will be drawn from each box for a chance to win a gift card.  The other copy will be going home to parents.  Lastly, the student will get a leaf with their name on it which will be put on the tree in the kindergarten hallway for recognition.

Parking Considerations

Just a friendly reminder to parents who are entering the parking lot during drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon. Please follow the direction of the painted arrows and drive in the proper direction through the lot. This will prevent near miss accidents moving forward. Also, we recognize that the lot is rather full during specific times in the day; but if we drive with caution, patience and care then all our children will be safe at all times.

Have a great week! We look forward to seeing you at the interviews on Thursday and Friday
