Weekly Update – October 1-5

PD Days

Friday October 5th and Monday October 8th are PD Days for students. Please do not send students to school on these days.

Parking Lot Information

Student safety when coming to school and going back home is very important to us! We are a very large school and our parking lot is limited in size relative to our population. This will help alleviate some of the traffic congestion.

A reminder of the following safety tips and school regulations:

  1. Encourage your children to use crosswalks and walkways.
  2. Please do not use the driveway in front of the school. Pylons have been placed at the entry and exit to allow for easy access of buses that are dropping off and picking up students. Please park in the parking lot or on street in front of the school.
  3. If you must drive your child to school, please use the ‘Kiss and Ride’ system in place at the east and west sides of the school. Please drive up as far as you can to drop your child off. Do not double park or drop off at the yellow gates. There are staff members on duty to help traffic flow safely. Students are to exit the vehicle from the right passenger side. This is for their safety.
  4. If you drive to or from the school, please remember: to be patient and courteous; do not block the main road thoroughfares; drive slowly and be vigilant for pedestrians/children; and do not park your car along the sidewalk at the side of the building as this is designated for the ‘Kiss and Ride’ only.

No Dogs on School Property

Please do not bring dogs onto school property unless they are service dogs. There are many students with allergies to animals as well as children who are afraid of dogs. We suggest your child meet you along the sidewalk on Bolingbroke Drive if you must bring your pet.

Thank you for your cooperation and support. We want to ensure that all our students feel safe in every respect when they come to school.

Although we strongly recommend that appointments be booked outside of the regular school hours, we recognize that there may be some instances when appointments are scheduled throughout the school day. If this is the case, please write in your child’s agenda and the teacher will ensure that the student is at the office when you arrive.
