June 15th, 2018 – Weekly Update

Good afternoon everyone,
Thank you to all our families who joined us in celebrating our school mass today. We especially thank Father Jim for his wonderful contribution as our faith leader this year of the St. Benedict’s Parish. As a school community, we had the opportunity to acknowledge the wonderful contributions of Mrs. Miles, who will be retiring in June. We wish her well as she begins this new adventure.
A couple of quick updates:
a) Our Grade 8 Graduation ceremony will be held next week on Thursday, June 21st at Jean Vanier. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they prepare to move on with their Catholic Education journey to Secondary school;
b) Our students will be sharing their gifts and talents at our talent show which will be on Tuesday, June 19th beginning at 12:30 pm in our gym. All are welcome. Kindly note that there is only one performance of the Talent Show;
c) As a point of clarification, our Playday is scheduled for Friday, June 22nd in the morning. Students are invited to wear non-uniform, appropriate, and comfortable athletic clothing or if they choose, can wear their uniform. Please ensure your child wears running shoes, has a labelled refillable water bottle, a hat, and sunscreen;
d) Virtue Assembly is on Wednesday, June 20th at 10:15am. All are welcome to join the Kindergarten students as they lead us in the monthly theme of Faithfulness;
e) All library books need to be returned to the Learning Commons no later than June 22nd for the year-end inventory;
f) Our Lost and Found items will be on display until June 22nd. Please remind your child to check the main foyer for any lost personal items.
Wishing all our families an enjoyable weekend and a Happy Father’s Day!
