This week’s update arrives a day early as tomorrow is a PD day and there are no classes for students.
A couple of updates:
a) Special recognition and prayers are extended to our Grade 2 students as they participated in their First Holy Communion last Saturday with the St. Benedict Parish. We would also like to thank Father Jim and Deacon Joe for their faith leadership and guidance. Thank you to the families and friends who were able to join us and share in this celebration. A round of applause to Ms. Bisutti, Mrs. Dann, Mrs. Hamilton, Ms. Hastings, Mrs. Hyndman and Mrs. LaPlante for their support, organization, and preparation of our students to receive this sacrament;
b) Our Catholic Education Week schedule, which is on our website, outlines many activities – we recognize how busy families are, however, we hope to see you at some point over the week http://schools.hcdsb.org/lucm/default.aspx;
c) From our Eco-Club – A special thank you to all the staff and students of Lumen Christi for taking part in our Earth “month” celebrations. We had a lot of fun learning and loving our planet and took part in many activities such as outdoor clean ups and planting. Remember to reduce, reuse and recycle and remember it is our job as stewards of God’s creation to protect our beautiful Earth;
d) Popcorn for $2 a bag will be sold at lunch each Friday in May. All proceeds will go to support the yearbook;
e) Jean Vanier Catholic Secondary school is thrilled to announce the 5th Annual Multisport Summer Camp from July 9th – 27th for students ages 6 to 13. Registration information and forms are available at http://jeanvanier.hcdsb.org . Paper copies are available at the LC main office.
As always, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us here at the school.
Enjoy your weekend!
