Daily Self-Assessment of COVID-19 Symptoms: Staff are to monitor self and students for signs/symptoms of COVID-19.  All Staff and students who are experiencing new or worsening symptoms consistent with COVID- 19 must go home/stay at home and seek appropriate medical attention as required, including getting tested for COVID-19. Take the October 1st Update – COVID-19 Screening Tool for Children and follow the recommendations shared with the new changes highlighted.

HRM Poinsettia and Christmas Wreaths– Orders for the Christmas Wreaths are due last Wednesday, while the orders for the poinsettias are due on November11. Please complete all orders online using Cash Online.

HRM Purdy’s Fundraiser– HOLY ROSARY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS 2020 is fundraising with Purdys Chocolatier, just in time for Christmas! If you’d like to support us through purchasing some very sweet Christmas gifts for friends, family and yourself, please click the link below: After you’ve signed in you can buy our amazing chocolates or invite others to join and support our Fundraising Campaign. Our goal for the school is $1000 worth of orders so we may qualify, otherwise all orders will be cancelled. All orders must be in by November 25th.

Halloween Prizes: All prizes will be announced on Monday November 9, 2020. Thank you for all of your support with this initiative.

Milton Library Update: Milton Public Library is inviting all schools in Halton Region to participate in this important initiative. Milton Public Library is implementing the Read Woke Challenge to empower our communities to be stronger, more active, and more consistent allies in the racial equity and social justice movements. One way that students learn about the world is through the social messages found in stories. Stories help youth to understand how society perceives their culture as well as the cultures of their friends, teachers and loved ones. They empower youth to stand up for others, develop healthy worldviews, and build an empathetic and compassionate community.

Optional French Programs- Registration opens- November9- Forall Kindergarten (Year 2) + Grade 4 parents who are interested in the French Immersion program or Extended French Program (this program is offered at Holy Rosary-Milton). The online registration form will be available for 2 weeks,beginning Monday, November 9, 2020 and ending on Friday, November 20, 2020. The link to online registration will be available on the home page of the Board’s website ( during this time period. Please note that you will require your child’s Ontario Education Number (OEN) to complete the online registration form. Your child’s OEN can be found on a recent report card. Both programs are optional programs, and enrolment is limited. Student enrolment in the French Optional programs are determined through a random selection (lottery) process.
*Please note that onlyoneregistration per student (OEN) will be accepted and included in the random selection process. All duplicate registrations will be CANCELLED.

Keeping Christ in Christmas Contest: HCDSB annual Keeping Christ in Christmas student contest is back! This year, the contest will be open for entries from Wednesday, October 28 through Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Students are encouraged to submit entries that highlight the theme of the contest and express in their own creativity how we can all do our part to Keep Christ in Christmas. Students may submit entries electronically in the following four (4) categories: Visual artwork (drawing, painting, photography, collage, sculpture, 3D model, etc.), Original song, Short video(maximum length is 3 minutes), or Short story or poem (up to 250 words). To minimize the distribution of paper and for the health and safety of all students, staff and school communities, HCDSB will be accepting submissions ONLINE ONLY this yearStudent work can be entered into the contest through an online formavailable on the official contest page.

Promoting Well-Being: The Government of Ontario is funding and offering free Virtual CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) for residents of Ontario. This no fee option is a great resource as it removes many barriers and is accessible by all.
