Holy Lord,

Thank You for Your grace. Please help me move beyond the hurdles that trip me up and give me the strength and wisdom to look up and see the hope I run toward in Christ.

In Jesus’ Name,

Our grade 7 & 8 Peace Ambassadors would like to introduce our We “Scare” Hunger Food Drive!

  • For this food drive we will be donating to Kerr Street Ministries in Oakville. We will be collecting all the donations at the front of the school near the entrance to the gym. Please see flyer for more information.
  • Virtual Presentation: Paul Davis was with us virtually on Thur. Oct. 21 to speak to our students about internet safety, texting, safe use of social media platforms, and gave many examples and tips to keep our students safe. He also presented valuable information to parents about the pitfalls and dangers that are present for our students while on-line. Thanks to those who were able to connect!

  • Student Concerns: If at any time you have a question about your child’s academic work, or have a concern about an occurrence that happened during the week, please give your child’s classroom teacher a call as the first step. If the situation continues, or you feel that the event is of a more serious nature, please call Mr. Albanit at the school. I will always make time for you.
  • Pizza Day- Next Thur. Oct. 28th All pizza orders have been sent into Pizza Pizza at this point. We will not have extra pizza for sale next Thursday.

  • Costume Reminders– Please review:  The following are suggested questions to reflect on when choosing a costume to avoid being disrespectful of offensive:
  • Is my costume making fun or offensive towards a group of people, their culture or religion?
  • Does my costume reinforce jokes and stereotypes about certain groups, cultures or religions?
  • Am I altering my skin color, facial/body features to make it darker or like a particular race, ethnicity, or cultural group?
  • Am I dressing up as a culture or borrowing from a religion that is not my own or is not part of my background?
  • Do I understand and respect the history or tradition of the culture that I am borrowing my costume from?
  • School Council:  Mon. Nov. 1 at 6:30 pm.  This will be a virtual meeting. If you would like to be in the “gallery” for this meeting please email Mr.Albani at  albanit@hcdsb.org for a link.  If you have a question for School council please email it to the above email address.
  • Running ClubThis club begins next week for students in 4-8 that have returned the consent form that was sent home. We are still waiting on hearing about a return to elementary sports teams. I will let you know once we have been given permission to start.
  • Safety Reminders: Pick Up and Drop off:  A quick reminder to be alert and aware as you drop your child off in the morning and pick them up at the end of the day. Please drive slowly and look for students that may be walking to or from a car. Thanks so much!
