Remembrance Day Service – November 11th

Holy Cross students will have opportunity to come together in prayer to honour those who have served and who now serve our country, in times of war, military conflict, and peace, through a Virtual Remembrance Day service on Wednesday, November 11th at 10:45 AM.  Ms. Primeau’s class will lead the Liturgy, and will assist in handing out poppies to all students and staff to wear as we celebrate and honour those that gave their lives so that we can live in freedom today.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month

October 26 to November 20, 2020 marks Cyber Awareness Month. The four-week K-12 campaign, led by The Educational Computing Network of Ontario (ECNO) raises awareness of the new educational realities of teaching, learning and connecting that students, parents and staff have experienced this past year.

This awareness month emphasizes how we can all do our part to protect against cyber threats in our new learning environments and workspaces.

The campaign theme for this year is “Work, Teach, Learn Remote, Secure and Safe” with an objective of helping everyone in K-12 education – teachers, staff, students and parents – be safer and more secure online.

Fundraising Update

Many thanks to all our families for their contributions to date. Through your generosity, we have been able to raise $2660.00 so far!  This will greatly benefit our students in continuing to support their learning and achievement.  Please note that our School Cash-on-line donation link is still live and will be until the end of this week.   Any donation amount is welcome! Every donation makes a difference, and all donation amounts are confidential.

In the past years, your generous donations have allowed the school to fund many school initiatives across all grade levels. Your support has enabled our school to purchase technology, physical education equipment, materials for events, and other school initiatives. This year’s fundraiser will focus on purchasing updated technology, enhancing our outdoor equipment, and planning Virtual Assemblies for our students that will focus on well-being, as well as new educational experiences or needs that may arise during this uncertain year.  Your School Cash-on-line receipt can be used as a tax receipt.

We thank you in advance for your contribution!

Holy Cross Tips

Remember…our children are watching us. They are watching how we respond and manage our own stress.  Let’s practice our own self-care so our children will learn and develop their own healthy strategies as well!

As always, we thank you for continuing to perform daily screening of your child(ren) for COVID-19 symptoms BEFORE leaving for school using the COVID-19 Self-Assessment. The Government of Ontario has created an online tool to assist families with the daily self-screening process here: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/.

Halton Public Health have also updated their Return to School and Child Care Protocol for Individuals for COVID-19 Symptoms, and you can review that information in the flow chart attached below. HE-return-to-school-and-child-care-protocol-for-individuals-with-covid-19-symptoms-16-Oct-2020Download
