Weekly Update: September 21-25, 2020

When everything seems to be changing, we can rely on God’s constancy ~ Hebrews 13:8

We had a fantastic week at Holy Cross! Thank you to our parents and students, who did a great job following the new routines and protocols to ensure everyone’s safety.  Special thanks to our staff for carefully guiding our students on the health and safety procedures, while remaining committed to providing a quality Catholic education that is flexible and engaging. We look forward to maintaining a strong sense of community and welcoming spaces in our school.

New COVID-19 Self-Assessment Tool

As noted in the communication from the Board, the Ontario government has released a *new* online screening tool for schools – COVID-19 School Screening.  It is extremely important that parents do this self-screening test with their children BEFORE they come to school each day. Staff are also required to do this assessment daily before coming to work.  Stopping the spread of COVID-19 is a community effort. Working together, we will ensure a safe, healthy and happy school experience for all.

Lunches and Water Bottles

A gentle reminder to ensure that your child(ren) is sent to school with enough snacks, a lunch and a reusable water bottle each day. With our COVID-19 protocols, parents are unable to visit the school to drop items off for students. Your support with building these lunch and snack routines with your child(ren) is appreciated.

Virtual Courses through the Canadian Red Cross

The Canadian Red Cross ran virtual course pilot projects this past summer, and the organizers were pleased with their success!  They have decided to continue to offer the virtual courses throughout the school year.  Please review the attached flyer: Red Cross Virtual Courses 2020-21

Holy Cross Parish

We are blessed to benefit from the continued support of the Pastoral Team at Holy Cross Parish.  Special thanks to Father Dave, who has prepared a Virtual Opening School Liturgy for us, which we will be watching as a school community on Wednesday, September 23rd at 10:30 a.m.

Information regarding sacraments that had to be postponed due to COVID-19 is forthcoming.
