On January 22, 2020, Grade 7 and 8 students engaged in an interactive learning experience on the Tour for Humanity Bus.
The Tour for Humanity Bus is a self-contained mobile classroom that educates and empowers students to raise their voice and take action against hate and intolerance. The tour provides education on historical events, and focuses on the relevance of these events in both Canadian and global perspectives.
The goal of the ride was to expand students’ knowledge about the Holocaust, start discussion that connects with HCDSB’s Focus on Faith theme ‘Do you love Me?’, and to raise awareness about Holocaust Memorial Day on January 27.
The bus departed from the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies, and took students through various engaging activities.
On the bus, students participated in discussion, examined visuals and explored the perspectives of Holocaust survivors.
Thank you to our staff for providing such a moving and thought-provoking learning experience for our students!
