About Our School

Nestled in the heart of Hawthorne Village in southeast Milton, Guardian Angels School is a two-storey school with a unique architectural design. The school opened in September 2004 as the first school with school uniforms in our system. This school year marks our 13th anniversary as a Catholic school community!

WHAT ARE GUARDIAN ANGELS?

Guardian Angels are blessed spirits appointed by God to be protectors and defenders of mankind. Faith teaches us that we all have Guardian Angels who watch over us during the whole course of our lives. Guardian Angels strive to keep us on the right path, suggest good thoughts and holy desires, offer our prayers and good actions to God and, above all, assist us at the hour of death. Pope Francis reminds us that we can examine our own conscience: “How is my relationship with my guardian angel? Do I listen to him? Do I speak with him? Do I ask his advice? Is he beside me?”…In doing so, we evaluate “the relationship with this angel that the Lord has sent to guard us and accompany us on the path, and who always beholds the face of the Father who is in Heaven.” The feast day of Guardian Angels is observed on October 2.

GUARDIAN ANGELS SCHOOL PRAYER

Angel of God, my guardian dear,

Whom God has sent to help me here;

Ever this day be at my side;

To light, to guard, to rule, to guide. Amen.

Daily Prayer & School Celebrations

We start each and every day at Guardian Angels Catholic School with our national anthem followed by the Oath of Citizenship, morning prayers, and announcements. Students lead us in prayer each morning over the announcements and take an active role in composing original prayers/reflections based on the liturgical seasons (Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter). Prayers are also said in class before lunch, at the start of the afternoon, and the end of the day.

 Many thanks to Father Jim Petrie for his continued spiritual leadership. He visits us regularly and assists us in celebrating school-wide masses throughout the school year as well as the sacraments of Reconciliation (October 15), Confirmation (November 5), and Communion (April 22).
