1st WEEK SUCCESS!
Thank you to all staff and parents/guardians for making the first week a great success! All of our students adjusted quickly to the new routines, and we have all of you to thank! We have some new staff members joining us this year and we would like to welcome them: Ms. DeSantis (Gr. 5), Ms. Sankey (Gr. 6), Ms. Hauzar (Gr. 4, 7), Mr. Lucibello (Gr. 7), Mlle. Habashy (FSL), Ms. Clarke (Educational Assistant), Ms. Roney (Educational Assistant), Ms. Jheeta (Educational Assistant), Ms. Santos (Educational Assistant), Ms. Jacob (Educational Assistant), Ms. Shakoor (Educational Assistant), and Mr. Junsay (Daytime Custodian).
KISS N’ RIDE ROUTINES
We would ask families to show patience during morning and afternoon routines while in their cars. There are people all trying to get to where they need to go as quickly as possible, but we all need to be mindful of safety and respect. The staff on duty are trying to navigate this follow as smoothly as possible. The Kiss N’ Ride areas are clearly marked at each parking lot directly beside the school. This IS NOT intended to be temporary parking spot and drivers SHOULD NOT be leaving their vehicles unattended. If you need to park, find an empty spot, and walk your child to the playground where they will be met by staff on duty. A reminder that morning supervision begins at 8:15.
Please note the West side tends to have more parking areas with the additional of the Municipal lot directly beside the school lot (beside the playground ground). This parking lot is opened for entry and dismissal, but closed off the remainder of the day to provide an additional playground area for our students.

DROP OFF AND PICKUP
Continuing from above, thank you to all the parents/guardians who are coming on the school grounds wearing a mask! We ask that you continue to be a role model to all our children. Please ensure that if you are coming onto school property to drop off your child, you are dropping off and leaving as soon as possible in order to decrease congregating on school property. We also ask that if you are dropping off by way of the field, that you remain as far back as the path that goes around our field.
We are in the process of finalizing the agendas for students. Once cost has been determined, we will send out additional information and payment will be made on https://hcdsb.schoolcashonline.com/
SCHOOL CASH ONLINE
For those families new to our school, it is important that you register for our online money collection system called School Cash Online. School Cash Online is a way to complete any transactions that involve payment to the school. For example, student agendas. If you have not registered, please follow the steps below:
- Step 1: Please visit: https://hcdsb.schoolcashonline.com/
- Step 2: Register by selecting the “Get Started Today” and following the steps.
- Step 3: After you receive the confirmation email, please select the “Click Here” option, sign in and add each of your children to your household account.
MANDATORY SELF-SCREENING AND CONFIRMATION
Thank you for completing your child’s self-screening and confirmation last week. There are only 5 days left so please continue to complete the student log.
Parents and guardians must perform daily screening of their child(ren) for COVID-19 symptoms BEFORE leaving for school using this link: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/context
Once complete, confirmation of the daily screening must be provided to the classroom teacher in one of the following formats:
a) Email results to classroom teacher (emails are found on our https://elem.hcdsb.org/guardianangels/staff-directory/
b) Show “pass” confirmation on a personal device;
c ) Show printed copy of the screening tool indicating the current date and a “pass”; OR
d) Complete the Confirmation of Daily Covid-19 Screening Student Screening Log that was distributed last week. A copy is available here.
